Aims & Objectives : The technology that enables e-commerce consists of unique set of components. A thorough understanding of these components and the various architectures that configure them is essential to deliver appropriate solutions for internet, intranet and extranets.
Course Focus : The program is designed to impart a wide range of skills in modern computing theory and practice. The graduate will be able to design and develop complex software systems in multi-user environment.
Course Outline : The course is divided into 4 semesters.
Semester 1 : Fundamentals & Principles : Overview of computers & Internet, Introduction  to Microsoft office, Overview of E-commerce, Overview of M-commerce, Object Oriented Programming * Web design - Designing Web Page using HTML, DHTML & HTML Editors, Scripting Languages (VB Script, Java Script and J Script), Graphic and Image manipulation.
Semester 2 : Java - Concepts of OOP's in Java, Programming Basics, Core Java, Advance Java * Corba - An Introduction, OMG process and standard, Object Management Architecture, Dynamic Invocation Inteface, ORB and Object Adapters, Respositories, Interoperability *OOP's / OOAD with UML -    Concepts of OOP's, OOAD, OOAD with UML * Oracle 8i, Oracle 8i Java Products, SQLJ
Semester 3 : Network Administration - Networking Essentials, Administrating Microsoft 2000,  TCP / IP, Microsoft Proxy Server and IAS Server, Creating and Managing Web Server using IIS, Microsoft Index Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Active Directory * Introduction to Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Overview of WAP,Components of WAP, Key features of Nokia WAP server, Installation, Configuration of WAP Server, Administering Microsoft Site Server,  *Cold Fusion-Overview.
Semester 4 : A 12-week period of compulsory internship provided by the institute with a leading software house. E-com students will get to work on live projects given to the institute by partner companies.
Faculty : E-commerce design and development professionals, Senior Programmers of E-commerce companies well experienced and exposed to E-business design & development.
Duration : One Year (Part Time).

Class rooms & practical training - 9 months

Compulsory
Internship - 3 months

Timings : Evenings only.
E-COMMERCE Eligibility : Graduate in any discipline (Commerce/Science). Candidates appearing for final examination can also apply. Persons with working experience will be given preference.
