On successful completion of the program, the student gets to work with a wide range of retail marketing firms including

     The program is designed to equip students with modern techniques in Retail processes, Systems, Customer relations, Marketing and promotion, Merchandising and Stock Planning.

Course Outline : The course is divided into 4 semesters.

Semester 1 : Introduction to Retail business and a retail organisation structure. Introduce them to key retail functions and their relationship within the organisation and to the consumer, in order to prepare them for wider managerial or professional responsibilities. Student also development sessions * Retail Marketing - Develop knowledge of students in Retail basic, current business practices advertising, outdoor and indoor promotions, display and merchandising, franchising and super marker retailing.
Semester 2 : Retail Management - Teaches the best practices skills across the breadth of management roles within the industry including strategic management. Focuses on effective operational skills, pricing strategies, rules and regulations, distribution practices, managing retail concepts, financial management and control* Retail Operations - Imparts indepth knowledge on purchasing and stock control, fashion buying, general merchandise, computing and space management, human resource management, retail calculations, retail issues, security, supply chain and operation management * Retail Banking - An insight into the filed of Retail Banking, Customer Care & Relationship Management, Transaction Processing System (A revolution in IT induced Retail Banking), E-Age Retail Banking.
Semester 3 : Research - Studies cover theory and process of buyer's behavior and research, brand management, understanding and managing customer risks, organisational behaviour and customer relationship * Technology in Retail Management - Study of computers and computers and systems applicable to retail stores / mega chains, application softwares, website creation, development and promotion * Applied Management in Retailing - Focus on the need of modern business development strategies in retailing such as e-tailing, e-CRM(Customer Relationship Management), SCM (Supply Chain Management), CIM (Customer Information Management) and Online Shopping.
Semester 4 : A 12 week period of internship with retail marketing firms, including large Departmental Stores, Supermarkets, Showroom, etc.
Duration : One Year (Part Time).

Class rooms & practical training - 9 months

Compulsory Internship - 3 months
Timing : Evening only.

Eligibility : Graduate in any discipline (Commerce, Science) Candidates appeared for final examimation can also apply. Persons with working experience will be given preference.
